Personal Learning Networks...

Wow! Look at all the new things I'm learning! I just started a Twitter account and am using it to get in touch with fellow health teachers. I am still figuring things out but am liking what I've learned so far. I think I'll also be looking into finding some podcasts that are teachers from Universities around the United States teaching about health.

Using both Twitter and the podcasts, I think I will be able to increase my knowledge about health topics and the new happenings in the health world. Additionally, I think I will be able to use these lectures as art of my lecture to help the students understand new concepts at a high level of learning.

  1. That is really cool that you are getting connected to other Health Teachers. Get ideas and talk about what worked for them and you in class. It is a great way to share information with colleagues that are in your same field and doing what you are doing.

  2. I think your ideas are awesome! Using Twitter will probably get you feedback faster as well. PLNs are a great way to connect with other colleagues and Twitter is actually a way that I hadn't really explored yet. Great idea!

  3. Wow, I never thought of podcasts from teachers around the US - where did you find those and/or could you send me the link for some?

What you said about Twitter was encouraging. I haven't looked into that form for social networking at all and now I just might :-).
